ESTABLISHMENT AND DEVELOPMENT



Located in Southeast region, Binh Duong is also known as an important part of the Southern key economy. Thu Dau Mot city - the township is just 30km from Ho Chi Minh city center along National route 13. Binh Duong ranks sixth in population and also has a high population growth rate due to large emigrants from other provinces. In fact, emigrants accounts for over 50% population of Binh Duong. In 2018, Binh Duong was the seventh-largest Vietnamese administrative unit in terms of population, ranked fourth in Gross Domestic Product (GRDP) and also in GRDP per capita, and ranked 18th in growth rate. Once recognized as a purely agricultural province with only two main routes – Saigon river and National route 13, Binh Duong used to have a few thousand residents who mainly earned a living by agriculture. And now, Binh Duong becomes a trading gateway to Ho Chi Minh city and grows into one of the leading industrial zones in Vietnam.

CULTURE


Not only has Binh Duong been well-known for rich history, diversified culture and traditional trade villages for ages, this province also recently stands out as a strong, growing economy. Up to now, there have been 11 places in Binh Duong that were recognized as national cultural and historical relics and 39 others as provincial ones.

ECONOMY



Binh Duong plays the role of a trading gateway with the cultural and economic center with several arterial roads like National route 13, Ho Chi Minh road,… going through. Just 10-15km from Tan Son Nhat international airport and some important ports earns a big advantage for developing the economy and society in all aspects. Till now, there have been 28 industrial zones and 8 industrial clusters covering around 10,000 hectares. Up to October 2014, Binh Duong has attracted over 17,000 domestic corporations as well as 2,356 foreign investment projects valued 20 billion 200 million US dollars.
